CD Projekt RED announced that cyberpunk 2077 will make radical decisions in game development and marketing strategies following its troubled exit.
CD Projekt RED, which gained popularity with The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 games, made important statements about the future roadmap. In a statement, the Polish game developer also signaled that cyberpunk 2077 will make some radical changes, especially in terms of marketing strategy, following its troubled debut.
As you know, Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in 2013 along with a short promotional video. During this time, the Polish developer, who took the pulse of the players with the occasional trailers, naturally raised expectations to the highest level. Although the company’s strategy was successfully reflected in the pre-order figures for Cyberpunk 2077, it backfired with the game’s troubled output. There were so many mistakes in the game that there were also reports of a succession of returns for the production in question. Faced with the reaction of the players after these developments, the company also suffered a great loss in its share values.
Stating that they have learned from all these events, the developer studio says they will change their marketing strategy. The company said that it is aware that long advertising campaigns are causing problems, as in Cyberpunk 2077, and that they will organize shorter advertising campaigns in the games they will launch in the coming period, so that they can manage the process more easily.
In addition to its advertising strategies, the studio also announced that it will start developing multiple AAA games at the same time, i.e. high-budget games, starting in 2022. For now, it is not known what these high-budget games will be. However, it is estimated that one of these games is the new The Witcher game.
