Honor of Kings, one of the biggest games in the world, will soon be among the most fashionable games. Today, Tencent-owned developer TiMi Studios announced a collaboration with fashion house Burberry on new character skins.
As part of the deal, the exteriors of the Yao character will be designed by Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s chief creative officer.
Honor of Kings ‘Yao’ is completely renewed
“Burberry’s signature gabardine costume, pioneered by founder Thomas Burberry and designed to protect the user against weather conditions, fits Perfectly with Yao, who plays the role of a protector for his teammates,” the company said in a statement.
The costume deal, which will consist of two different colors and designs, opens the door to new excitement for the popular game. On the other hand, the two exteriors are said to have been designed with the “spirit of nature” in mind. Costumes with no release date will only be available for purchase for players in China.
If you’ve never heard of Honor of Kings, let’s note that the game is a competitive multiplayer game made for mobile devices but in the same mold as League of Legends or Dota 2. The game is so popular that Tencent has even had to set daily limits on players in the past. Honor of Kings reached an average of 100 million players per day in November 2020, the developer said.
Meanwhile, the collaboration is being considered part of an ongoing fashion trend that has infiltrated video games. As you may recall, in the past, Final Fantasy XIII hero Lightning, for example, served as a model for Louis Vuitton, and the fashion house also designed game outfits for League of Legends characters.
