Industrial production in the Euro Zone decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month in September, when new types of coronavirus (Covid-19) measures continued.
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published seasonally adjusted industrial production data for September in the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.
Accordingly, industrial production in the 19-member Euro Zone decreased by 0.4 percent in September compared to August and 6.8 percent compared to September 2019.
Industrial production in the EU remained unchanged in September compared to August, while dropping 5.8 percent compared to September 2019.
During the period in question, the highest monthly decline in industrial production among EU countries occurred in Italy with 5.6 percent, Ireland with 4.7 percent and Portugal with 3.8 percent.
On an annual basis, the highest decline in industrial production was observed in Ireland with 13.6 percent, Germany with 8.7 percent and France and the Netherlands with 6.1 percent.
