Chinese carmaker Arcfox is preparing to launch its luxury electric car model, which runs Huawei’s Harmony OS software and has 5G support.
Automotive company Arcfox will unveil a luxury electric car model with 5G support and the operating system huawei harmony on April 17.
The car, dubbed Alpha S HBT according to the company’s official invitation, will be on display during the Shanghai Motor Show 2021, which will be held on April 17. The acronym HBT in the name of the car represents Huawei Bluepark Together. So the car will be equipped with Huawei technologies.
The car features a HiCar smart display integrated with Harmony OS, 5G connectivity support and LiDAR sensors. In addition, arcfox Alpha S HBT will also have an autopilot feature. According to the leaked information, this autopilot will be level three. So Alpha S HBT will not be available without driver intervention.
Ken Hu, a Huawei executive, confirmed last week that Huawei has no plans to produce a vehicle under its own brand. The company plans to collaborate with automakers who want to supply the Huawei HI system to their vehicles. While Huawei is looking for sources of revenue outside its telecom and smartphone business, the company hopes to partner with many automakers to expand the platform to more vehicles.
